Train To Busan : Peninsula
Chapter 1: The Fall of Korea
The film begins by showing the early chaos of the zombie outbreak that destroyed South Korea. Jung-seok, a former soldier, attempts to escape the country with his family. On their way, they encounter fear, loss, and betrayal—setting the emotional tone of the story. Ultimately, Jung-seok manages to escape by sea, but the trauma of leaving others behind continues to haunt him.
Chapter 2: Life After Escape
Four years later, Jung-seok lives in Hong Kong as a refugee. Life is harsh, discriminatory, and hopeless for survivors from Korea. Jung-seok is consumed by guilt and without purpose—until he receives an offer for a dangerous mission. A group of criminals promises him a fortune if he goes back to the quarantined Korean Peninsula to recover a truck full of cash.
Chapter 3: Returning to the Peninsula
Jung-seok joins a small team and secretly enters the ruined peninsula. Once inside, the environment feels like a different world—dark streets, abandoned buildings, and zombies roaming everywhere. The mission initially goes smoothly, but things quickly collapse when they are ambushed by a brutal survivor group known as Unit 631. Jung-seok is separated from his team and left fighting for his life.
Chapter 4: Meeting Min-jung’s Family
As Jung-seok faces death, he is unexpectedly rescued by Min-jung and her two children, Joon and Yu-jin. They take him to their hideout, where he learns how they survive with limited resources and clever tactics. Their bond begins to grow, and Jung-seok sees a glimpse of humanity and hope that he believed was gone forever.
Chapter 5: Unit 631 and Their Cruel Games
Meanwhile, the criminal group Unit 631 captures Jung-seok’s teammates and forces them into deadly “zombie games” for entertainment. This group has lost all morality, turning survival into violence and cruelty. Their leader, Captain Seo, and the unstable Sergeant Hwang create one of the film’s biggest threats—not the zombies, but humans who have become monsters.
Chapter 6: The Plan to Escape
Min-jung reveals a plan: they will recover the truck filled with money and escape the peninsula using a helicopter arranged by an outsider. Jung-seok joins them, driven not by money but by a desire to help Min-jung’s family survive. This section shows intense teamwork, emotional growth, and rising tension as they prepare for a final escape.
